A little housekeeping - this morning was the first time I opened up the church and invited parishioners to be involved in morning prayer. One couple came, which is thrilling. However, it means a few of the responses would have been awkward for me to read. You should be able to hear the congregation responding quietly in the background. Please let me know if this disturbs your prayer and I'll try to find an alternative solution. In Christ, Fr. Ian
I said, LORD, be merciful unto me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee. ~ Psalm 41:4
Often we find ourselves in situations that seem hopeless, sometimes because of our own devices or sometimes by happenstance. Either way, it can seem frustrating, lonely, and wearisome.
We are called in these situations to come running to the Lord, to seek his kindness and mercy. If we find we have sinned we repent of that, doing an about face, for as sin leads to destruction, the way of the Lord leads to true life in Him. Let us seek the way of life.
If today you are wearied, and heavy laden come to the Lord and bask in his mercy, praying that he would heal our souls. His yoke is easy and light.
